I have a tivoHD and I have transferred 7 shows to my pc using tivo desk top 2.51. I have a wired network. All 7 shows play fine on the tivoHD.
2 of the 7 shows lose all audio on the pc somewhere after the start of the show (it starts with normal audio) and then have no audio until the end of the show. videoredo shows no audio in the bad part of the file.
2 of the shows have multiple time code breaks and one can be fixed with videoredo tv suite and the other can not be fixed with videoredo (it goes to the problem spot and stops playing and will make a dvd to this point and stop and quick stream fix will not produce a file).
the other 3 shows play fine on the pc.
Is anyone else having audio problems with tivoHD and tivo to go ?
Is this a problem with tivo to go ?
Is this a problem with my tivoHD ?
thanks

Generally installing the ac3filter audio codec will help with sound from HD capable TiVos. But in the past those were reported as files that would not play sound at all, not what you are seeing. Give it a try anyway, it probably won't hurt.
Some have reported that doing a quick stream fix on the files with VideoRedo before you load or play them can help with time code issues.

I have the ac3 filter. I am using a wired network.
2 movies play with sound on the tivohd but when transferred with tivo to go 2.51 they lose sound at some point in the movie and then never get the sound back (but play fine on tivo hd) and quick stream fix in videoredo creates an mpeg that ends at the point that the sound ends even though there was video in the transferred file beyond this point. Anyone seen this before ? Is this a tivohd issue ? Tivo to go problem ?
It is quite frustrating.

Hi there. I've been having similar problems. I was told by the TiVo people to load TiVo Desktop 2.5 upgrade ... which of course, did nothing. I tried the Direct Show Dump utility which made an MPEG file from the Tivo file but when I loaded that into Roxio and made a DVD the audio and video were out of sync. I'm trying out VideoRedo now and it seems to be able to make an mpeg Roxio can use. I'll have to see how the final DVD turns out.

I called tivo and they were not aware of the issue.
They want me to download the problem show to the pc again to see if it happens again...I did it with the first movie and it occured in the same place and I will try the second movie overnight but I bet the same problem will occur.
Videoredo shows no audio in the part of the .tivo or .mpeg file where the sound is lost. I asked videoredo about the problem and they are looking at my file. They have been VERY nice about looking at this oddball issue. I will let you know what happens.

Tivo has upgraded the software on tivohd and on tivo to go since the original post and the problem has ended and the movies transfer from the tivohd without any sound problems. we may never know what was causing the issue but it has been fixed.
