I had a season pass for "Law and Order" on TNT. When I set it up I said to keep at most 10 episodes. I went in to change recording options to keep 25 episodes. It noted a number of confilcts and would not let me change it to 25 unless I agreed to overide all of the conflicts.
I had to delete the season pass and start a new one. Same conflicts, but now I could get the "season pass as ahown" or get all episodes.

Do you know how many epiodoes of Law & Order there are on TNT? I think it's on every other hour.:)
That's not a bug, just TiVo doing it's job. When you put in your new seaon pass and it gave you the conflict warning it should have moved it to number 1 on your season pass list. So you really didn't nead to delete your season pass, all you had to do was tell it to overide and you would have been fine.

I guess I was not clear. I wanted to keep 25 episodes but not get all episodes. So I did not want to override the conflicts but it would not let me do that unless I made a new season pass.

Now I'm confused. The Sesaon Pass has two options for recording. Record first run and repeats, or new shows only. Now on TNT there are no "new epidodes" of Law & Order so your only option would have been first run and repeats. If you picked "new shows" you wouldn't be able to record anything.
Your statement: I had to delete the season pass and start a new one. Same conflicts, but now I could get the "season pass as ahown" or get all episodes.
What am I missing here? You didn't want all episodes but you set up a season pass. The way I see it the only way you could set up a season pass would be record all episodes.
Or perhaps you review upcoming episodes and you tell it which ones to record and not record. Is that what you do?

I asked for repeats. But that is not the problem.
After setting up the season pass the first time I set it "keep at most 10 episodes." There were some conflicts and it gave me the option to get all episodes of the season pass, or to get "the season pass as shown" (i.e. it would not record an episode if there were two higher priority shows. I choose to get the season pass as shown.
Now I decided I want to keep at most 25 episodes and went in to the season pass manager to change the recording options. I choose to keep at most 25. But here comes the problem. My only two options after selecting to keep at most 25 was to "get all episodes of the season pass" or to cancel the change I made. No way to get the season pass as shown like when it originally was set up.
I know this sounds confusing, but there is a difference between asking for repeats and getting the season pass as shown.
