OK... the audio dropouts have gotten worse.. I tried to watch an OTA recorded show lastnight and every few seconds the sound would face away
One way to bring it back is to hit the reverse button and then the play, so it is not the recording, its the playback
Alas this does not work all the time, and sometimes you have to do it three times in a row to get it to work. Even the "tivo bleelp" that sounds during reverse starts to fade
Any clues?

George,
I have a thread detailing my observations on what seems to be the same issue: thread (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=5915422#post5915422) . A few others piped up with similar issues.
Audio dropouts during live broadcasts have become much more noticeable over the past few weeks on my system as well. I'm really hoping that the spring update helps the issue.

Thank you mike
I had the video connected to the dvi ( that's right tivo hdmi to syntax dvi) on my syntax olevia. Because the syntax has only dvi (digital video, no audio) I used the analog stereo as input
I rewired and connected via the analog (YPBR) and that seems to have fixed the problem (still using the analog stereo) . Perhaps there is some hand-shaking on the hdmi, that did not get passed through because dvi could not handle it

I've noticed these dropouts also, however its only on one channel specifically in my case and what I've found to solve the issue was just hit the rewind button, go back about 30 seconds and play so your 30 seconds behind live TV and everythings fine.
Don't bother me much because the only thing I watch live ends up being the 10 PM news broadcaste and there's a season pass set up for that also, just in case. :D
