So I got a notice on my S2 Tivo that Comcast has added HD-SCIFI channel on 862. Looking at the guide on my Comcast Tivo, there is no channel label and only displays "To be announced". Anyone have any guide data for the newly added HD channels? Is this just a matter of waiting for the Comcast Tivo to connect to the Tivo server to obtain new guide data for these channels?

why it connect to the tivo server when you have the comcast Tivo? A call to comcast would be better.

I live in Brookline and noticed the message on my TivoHD and about new channels, then checked my Comcast Tivo box and it also had both the SciFi in HD and the Animal channel in HD.

It uses tivo servers for guide data, my parents iguide dvr had channel info for the channels (863+863) last night.
please dont be so quick to call for a service call for dumb stuff like this, a technician is not going to be able to fix your animal planet listing not coming up.
and FWIW i also noticed no info and To Be Announced on 862 + 863 last night, have a little patience, it'll come.

Thats what I didn't want to call -- wanted to see if anyone else was seeing same behavior. The guide data did eventually show up. On my standard Tivos, new guide data shows up with new channels -- thats why I was wondering -- its just a behavior difference that I wasn't sure about if anyone else encountered.

so are you saying that they comcast tivo will use the tivo servers instead of the normal guide data provider for comcast? Will Cox also use the Tivo servers when they launch the tivo software?

Yes, Comcast Tivo uses Tivo servers (or least not the same guide data as Comcast uses). It needs additional data for suggestions, etc. The Comcast Tivo uses the built-in DOCSIS modem, which is why it needs stronger signal than the standard iGuide software.
