View Full Version : Slingbox with Comcast Tivo

When I set up my Slingbox with my Comcast Motorola box, everything worked great. My computer showed the white Comcast remote and I was able to use the Slingbox to control my TV from my computer.

But then I upgraded to the Comcast Tivo service. Apparently, Slingbox hasn't created a Tivo remote skin for use with the Comcast Tivo service.

When I asked Slingbox about this, they said that they haven't created a Tivo remote skin for the Comcast Tivo, but recommended that I try to use any of their Tivo remote skins and put in a Comcast Motorola IR code. I tried many codes, but this didn't work.

Has anyone figured out how to use the Slingbox Tivo remote skin with the Comcast Tivo Motorola box ?

same struggle here.

I found that the original Comcast DVR skin/remote I was using worked 75% of the time, and it's what I'm currently stuck with.

I tried all the Tivo skins to no avail.

I just bought a Slingbox but didn't even attempt to hook it up to the Comcast Tivo. I hooked it up to my standalone

I've had the Comcast TiVo remote scanned. Since I'm not actually in possession of a unit, I need some volunteers to verify it works...

I set it up on my Mac Pro (OS X 10.5.2), and the only operational problem is the channel/page button doesn't work. Everything else works and looks great.

The installation instructions were pretty much correct, only glitch there is that, to install the remote file, the Remote folder isn't in the Resources folder of the Slingbox Setup Assistant application, it's in the Resources folder of the SlingPlayer application, so you'd have to close the Slingbox Setup Assistant application window, then access the SlingPlayer Resources folder.
