I just purchased a new TiVo wireless adapter for my series 2. I have been using a wireless B adapter with that Tivo from the day I bought it. Is there anything that needs to be done to get the TiVo to recognize the new TiVo wireless adapter? I assume I should power down the Tivo, replace the wireless adapter, and then power up the TiVo.

I'm pretty sure you can just plug it in and it will detect it. I'd try that first before powering it down.

You should be able to just unplug and replug. I would check my network setting to make sure it is still connecting but I believe it retains that info regardless of adapter, but could be wrong.

<-- Waiting for the new TiVo adapter to come from Amazon, then MRV will be fantastic!

The new one I bought, not like a new model or anything.

gotcha.

i've been extraordinarily frustrated by ttg/ttcb/mrv. i've got 2 tivos and had wireless b on one of them and g on the other. they both transfer miserably slowly, at about 2.5x - 3x the length of the show (best quality). So, a 1 1/2 hour movie, typically takes 3-4 hours to xfer.

the signal is good.

I'd be interested in any suggestions from anyone else to try to get near real-time on best quality videos.

I've got more memory ordered for the PC to increase from 512mb to 2gb. Maybe that'll help.

I've got a Ethernet->USB adapter ordered to experiment with wired vs. unwired.

Any other suggestions from anyone else?
