I just bought a Saumsung YP-P2, it plays mpeg files, but have seen conflicting reports on whether or not upgrading to desktop plus will allow me to transfer tivo files to this mp3/video player. Anyone know if it will work with it? Or is it just for the 8 or so things that tivo lists as being compatible?

If it is a windows media device, and you can sync to it from WMP, then you do not need plus. Just have TiVo Desktop place the files in your windows media library.

If it plays MPEG-2 files then you can simply use DirectShow Dump or TiVoDecode to decrypt the .tivo files to .mpg and then put them onto the device. If it requires MPEG-4 files then you will need to convert them using either TiVo Desktop Plus or another conversion application.
