Dead HDMI port on TiVo HD?

My GF has a TiVo HD. After a few months of use her HDMI out stopped working. Her Samsung LNT2653H says "no signal". It does recognize the cable when plugged in and searches. The TV has two HDMI ports and the TiVo works on neither. The TV's HDMI ports work with her DVD player, using the same cable. Any ideas?

Is the TiVo set to output at fixed 1080i?

Most Samsungs cannot accept 480i via HDMI, so if she accidentally changed it to that, she would lose video via HDMI.
