View Full Version : New THD can't see all channels

Just installed my new THD with two cablecards on LA's Time Warner service.

Many of the channels work fine, but some don't. In conversing with the TW repair guy, none of the "choice" channels are working. So, for example, 187 works but 188 does not (188 is on the choice plan). They did a bunch of stuff on the network to reactivate, then delete/add the package, etc. but nothing worked. The TW DVR upstairs gets everything fine.

So the repair guy is coming out next week. Anything else I can try from my end while I wait?

Update: problem resolved. I called TiVo support, who quickly realized what was wrong, and started a 3-way call with Time Warner. Within a minute or two, TW figured out what was wrong and paged an on-call guy to fix it.

As near as I could understand from them, I am in a "Legacy Adelphia" region (this I've read before on TCF) and therefore their billing system is unable to activate my cablecards. So they have to get a guy in the RNOC (data center?) to do it by hand. This happened 15 minutes after they paged them.

Kudos to TiVo for taking ownership of this problem and getting the backchannel TW folks on the line.
