Picture breaking up and reboots

I have a Samsung SIR-S4120R. Over the last couple of months I've started having problems with it momentarily saying that it's lost the connection on the other receiver. In addition, the picture sometimes breaks up both live and on recorded programs. This seems to always appear on on receiver and the other receiver doesn't seem to have any problem. Also, sometimes the picture will lose color.

Is it possible that this is a hard disk problem or is this most likely a problem with the hardware.

The system is still mostly useable, but it is getting worse where some programs are almost unwatcheable and it is luck of the draw which receiver a recorded program lands on.

I've also tried swapping cables while having the problem with live TV and the problem doesn't move with the cable so I'm pretty sure that isolates the problem to a particular tuner.

Probably a hard drive or a tuner. Try the hard drive first. If that does not work you can get the tuner fixed here: http://www.ccscorporation.net/dss.htm
swift good work, reasonable prices. All buying the drive will do is increase the lifespan of your TiVo. Use WINmfs to copy your image. Get that from www.MFSlive.org, its a free download. This way you only pay to have the tuner fixed if it is broken. Good Luck :)

Pump the breaks. You may want to search "reboot" and read all about it. Not saying it's your problem but before you start replacing harddrives and what not I'd look into some other possibilities.

Regarding losing color. Mine does that too. Strange. All I have to do is press pause and then play. Switches right back to color... every time.
