View Full Version : Video transfer added to ToDo list - never starts

Running TiVo Desktop v1.9.3(008) for OS X. When I attempt to initiate a video transfer to the TiVo, I get a "Will Transfer Later" screen, indicating that the video will be transferred after other transfers from the ToDo list are completed. There are no such entries in the ToDo list, so what is going on here?

I've tried stopping and restarting TiVo Desktop, rebooting the Mac, and rebooting the TiVo. I've seen some posts with a similar issue in the PC version of the Desktop software - the suggested workaround is to delete some temporary cache files used by TiVo Desktop. Any clues if something similar would work here? I haven't yet been able to find any cache files though.

I am having what I think is the same problem. As of about two weeks ago, I can no longer get transfers from TivoToGo or from a second tivo in another room to start.

The program transfer gets added to the To Do List, but it stays there indefinitely. When I click on the program it says the transfer will start when previously scheduled transfers complete. But there are no other scheduled transfers.

This is happening to both Tivo - Tivo transfers and PC - Tivo transfers. Daily updates and season passes record fine.

I have tried rebooting the tivo and Tivo Desktop.

Any help would be appreciated.

This problem can develop if the initial file that you tried to transfer was corrupt, or when someone restarts the pc during a transfer. I was using tivo.net at the time. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling tivodesktop and rebooting tivo again, after install.

No luck after reinstalling the desktop software. Although it did indicate that the reinstall was an "upgrade", so I'm not convinced that removing the preferences pane did a clean uninstall of the software.

Only other thing I can think of, is to power cycle your modem and router ( if you are using one).

I have seen the same thing with one file.

I don't bother to have a DVD player attached to the tv. I just rip a dvd from netflix to my server, watch on the tivo then delete the file when I am done.

I ripped "confessions of a superhero" (really funny, a must rent) and had a 1:33 file.

Twice, it got to 1:29 and stalled. When I look at the file on the server, I can watch it all the way to the end.

Don't know what is going on here.

Not sure what triggered it, but my transfer eventually happened. Something like 18+ hours after I originally scheduled it.
