I have an issue where I will occasionally go to a blank screen (but you can hear the TV and the TiVo clicks when the buttons are pressed). It has happened on several occasions when starting to watch a recorded show and sometimes just when changing channels. More often than not, I am not able to get the video back without unplugging the unit for a reset.

This tends to happen 2-3x per week.

Anybody have this issue? I know there are bugs and can live with them, but this gets frustrating, especially if I have a show recording at the time since if I need to reboot, I lose the recording at the time.

I have this issue as well. I've learned that if you press the guide button when seeing the blank screen, it'll come up and the picture will be back.

also, assuming that its happenening going from high def to non high def, put the video mode to 1080i fixed. Got rid of the green screen problems on my HDMI tv and blank screen on my component tv

I have mine set to 1080i fixed, but sometimes when changing channels (HD to SD) or input devices It ends up in 480i (full screen). I then go to change it back and after I hit the three thumbs down, I get a green screen. If I then change to and HD channel (type the number into the remote because I can't see anything) I get the picture back. When I switch back to a SD channel or watch an SD station I have maybe a 90% chance of it working.

I only have this problem one going to a Sony LCD rear projection TV, I also have a Comcast Tivo box on a Samsung FP LCD and have never had a problem.

The TV I'm having a problem with happens to be the more used TV. I ended up getting a TivoHD, transferring my lifetime subscription from a old Series 2. Comcast hooked it up yesterday and it has no issues syncing with the TV. After I get comfortable with the TivoHD, I plan to return the Comcast DVR and get just a normal HD cable box so I can still watch VOD.

I'm keeping the other Comcast box with Tivo. After some initial issues with the schedule running out, which was a local issue, it has worked fine, never messing up a recording. Of course I have the SW issue reported in the forum, but none of them bother me and I trust Tivo/Comcast will fix them over time.

One last thing, I might have been willing to wait for Tivo/Comcast to fix the video Sync and Dolby Digital problems. But even then there were a couple of options on the TivoHD that there were no release dates for, such as adding external disks and transferring show to a PC.

This works sometimes when it happens just switching channels, but was a problem for me when I was watching a recorded show... went to a blank screen and had no way of getting the main screen back without a reboot. Happened twice in the past 3 days alone.

I'll check the video mode issue. Mine is on 1080i hybrid. I've changed it to 1080i fixed, but it bothers me even more with the black bars on the screen for all the non HD programming. I think the issue does pertain to that though... something with switching between HD and non-HD programming that has the video mode change. I hope they can fix that with software.
