I am thinking of getting a Tivo S2 DT. I would like to be able to use it with both a DishNetwork receiver and a Comcast HD receiver. I understand that I won't be able to use it for any HD content.
My question is does the Series 2 DT supports controlling both the satellite and the digital cable boxes at the same time? Can I use the 2 IR blasters to handle both boxes (1 for dish and 1 for digital cable)?
All the info I could find online was about combining basic cable with either dish or digital cable. I understand that I will have to use the RF input for one receiver and the compiste or s-video for the second.
Thanks a lot.

Assuming the TiVo can control the HD satellite box, then you should be able to use the dual-tuner to control both the sat and cable boxes.
HOWEVER--you will NOT be able to use the dual-tuner feature in this setup. The only way to use dual-tuners with a satellite and cable setup is to have the coax cable (from your cable co) run directly into the back of the TiVo, bypassing any cable box.

Not directly anyhow. The Series 2DT can support only one box of any sort. The RF input only supports analog cable.
The most you can do is manually use one of the sources on the RF input manually set to CH3.
Older single tuner Series 2s can support two boxes at once (so long as one is satellite), but obviously will be able to record only one at a time.
