Clicks, pops in audio, flashes in video

I have recently (past month or so) begun having random, periodic noises in the audio of recorded programs. Along with each loud sound there is a white flash, usually across the top of the picture. I do not get this problem with live TV. Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas what might be causing it? Thanks.

What kind of TiVo and service provider do you have?

on channel 52 at approx 21 to 35 seconds after tuning it.

You hear a pop on the audio and a white flash comes across the screen.

Also on some of my analog channels 34-37 I get fluctuating brightness levels on some news shows. this is all using the analog NTSC cable tuner.

I have a newly purchased TIVO-HD.
