I'm trying to use a LinkSys WGA600N gaming adapter and a Linksys USB200M USB Ethernet port to try to network my Series 2. Does anyone have this working?

I can network fine with wired connection to the USB200M. I can hook up the WGA600N to my computer and get connected wirelessly without problem. However, when I use the WGA600N with the USB200M, the wireless signal won't connect. This does not appear to be a TiVo issue, as I have the same problem if I try to use the WGA600N with the USB200M on my computer. I'm trying to figure out if the WGA600N is defective, or if this is a common problem (ie WGA600N firmware problem).

Also, if I connect the WGA600N to my computer, wait for the wireless to connect, then move the ethernet cable over to the USB200M, everything works fine. But if I then power-cycle the WGA600N, wireless will not connect. Very odd - looks like some kind of startup timing problem that is only exposed when the WGA600N is connected to the USB200M.

I would love to hear if anyone has had success with this combination.

Try turning your TiVo off (unplug it). Connect everything together and power up the WGA600N first. Wait until that is on and running before you power on the TiVo.

I tried and this doesn't work (but thanks anyway). As long as I'm connected to the USB200M, the WGA600N won't connect to the wireless. When I power up the WGA600N, the 'wireless' light flashes, and continues to flash after powering up the TiVo (or my laptop) connected through USB200M - never establishes wireless connection.

If I try the same procedure with the WGA600N connected to the Intel NIC on my laptop, as soon as the laptop powers up, the wireless light is solid and the connection is good. So, the problem seems to be using the WGA600N connected to the ethernet port offered by the USB200M. Either there is something 'non-standard' about the USB200M's ethernet port, or else the WGA600N is waiting for something on the ethernet port that some devices, like the USB200M, don't offer. It must be one of those answers, unfortunately, it is impossible to get anyone who knows anything at Linksys to provide a reasonable explanation.

Try a hub/switch in the middle.

Try a hub/switch in the middle.

That doesn't work either. The WGA600N would not connect to the wireless when powered up while connected to a switch (Trendnet TE 100-S5). So far, I can only get it to connect to wireless when connected to my laptop's Intel NIC. I'm going to try some other USB ethernet adapters and I'll report back.
