This was fun. Especially how they used George Michael. I hope they can sustain the level of entertainment. Nice to see Loretta Devine, too.

I only watched the first ten or so minutes, but I like the character. I will be watching it tomorrow evening.

My wife and I liked it a lot. Loved the "Yes. I was pregnant for 8 years" line.

Cute show.
I thought that Ally McBeal was canceled a few years ago - I was so surprised to see it back on the air! ;)
Actually, I did think it was kind of cute.

So I stayed up later last night to watch this.
I liked it enough to put it on my SP. There were a few times when I was chuckling and that means a lot. I am glad he and old school girlfriend didn't get back together. I did like the ashes in the coffee can.
I never watched Ally McBeal - is this in the same style?

Five minutes in I changed the channel. Didn't like it at all.

I liked it. When I saw the previews I was thinking..Viva Laughlin. Glad to see I was wrong.
Great HD views in the Andies

I have to wonder why Victor Garber annoys me so much.
Anyone else momentarily thrown off by the Jericho mother playing Eli's mother...???

This was possibly the most mediocre show I've ever seen. That's quite an achievement.

You must not have watched much television in the past 20 years. :)

YES! I said so the minute I saw her. At least it reminded me that Jericho will be back on the air soon.
Overall, I kinda likedi t. It was slow moving at first and I was about to get highly annoyed if we had to put up with the same George Michael song ever time he had some kind of vision of something.

Or the Pie Maker as his father? :-)

His father was Tom Cavanaugh.
The Pie Maker is Lee Pace.

Well, now I have to watch it online. Grrr. It was pre-empted (along with LOST) due to NC basketball - and was supposed to be on after LOST tonight, starting at 7. Except after LOST, Gray's Anatomy came on. And mad for two reasons: 1) I wanted to watch Eli right then and 2) just the few minutes of Grays Anatomy that I watched? Now I want to watch it all, and I've never watched a single ep. Hoo boy.

Another Brit playing an American. Will it ever end? ;)
I liked Jonny Lee Miller a lot in it and am looking forward to more of this show. I got chills when they showed "George Michael" in the blocks. ;)

Guy (Lawyer) with brain Anurism has visions and hears music, may die - it helps him begin to change his life (and others) for the better ! All done with a mix of Music, Drama and Humor.

The time slot should help the ratings a bit...

I've set up an SP because the human aspects of the writing seem promising. Also, I watch any show that's shot in San Francisco (although the courthouse exteriors seem to jump between San Francisco City Hall and what looks to be the Los Angeles City Hall).
Cons: The legal aspects of the show are, for me, pretty distracting. Someone who did what he did would be probably disbarred. His closing argument (e.g., admitting that he really had no evidence) would have likely caused any jury verdict to be overturned, either by the trial judge or an appeals court. Medical groups have also criticized the vaccine storyline.
The producers need to spring for a lawyer and a physician to look over the stories. Most will work for cheap in return for a mention in the closing credits.

That really bothered me as well. That is not even close to the correct application for a "Chinese Wall." What he did is not even remotely allowed under any circumstances. And I thought the term "Chinese Wall" was frowned upon.

Was there a "special" Oceanic message during the show? They pimped that message all through lost then at the end said it would be during Eli..... Who watches live? So, since I didn't watch Eli ( though it appears I should), I don't know what the message was.

There was and it is discussed in the Lost Thread for Thursday - it's on the first or second page I think...

I really liked it. Cracked up at the whole exchange of him asking if the kid was his and the "yes i was pregnant for 8 years" reply. Just a great insight into how self absorbed he was- not to mention great sarcasm back. :D
Dr. Chen was great too - "oh that sucks bro!" hehe
Oh, and Natasha Henstridge as the fiancee - gotta love that! :D

That wasn't the Pie Maker. It was Ed.
I never watched Ed, just remember Cavanagh from Love Monkey and most recently from the Smithsonian Channel HD.
My husband and I enjoyed the show, though I didn't expect to from the overabundence of ads during Lost. So it was a very pleasant surprise. est line was when his brother first looked at his brain x-rays and said he was a double butt-hold. That line had us cracking up! :D

so he's valuable because he won a big case but it will alienate their biggest customer? I am sure i misunderstood that. ??
marrying the bosses kid is indeed going to be a challenge. I hate when they put together so many people I know from certain shows then make a new one. Almost prefer an all new cast.
in the beginning i was hoping this wasnt cop rock or something. Still really cant stand the musical stuff..just unnecessary. I hope they change it up the next show. The song of the week (even if they would choose a fav artist of mine) will get old quickly.
the 2 guides deserve a raise!

I thought it was a really cute show. The guides were hysterical, as was the acupuncturist. It's also refreshing tho see two brothers on TV who actually like each other and tease as real brothers would.

Dunno why he bugs you, but he's playing yet another lawyer. I really liked the short lived "Justice" show that he was in.. (I see that there was one unaired ep and it's not on DVD.. sigh.)

Cross posted in the SP forum:
Heads-up for those of you watching Eli Stone. For some strange reason tonight's (2/7/08) episode is in my guide data but is not associated with my Eli Stone SP. At all. When I view my SP and choose upcoming episodes it only shows the episode scheduled to air 2/14.

I missed this but just watched it on ABC.com. I really liked it. I loved the line about marrying the boss's daughter, "No, that's stupidity."

I missed the original showing and just got around to watching it on ABC.com (limited commercial interuptions, my ass...). I enjoyed it. Glad I had set up an SP. There's another one waiting.
