DirecTV R-10's

We recently purchased two used DirecTV TiVO R-10's from Ebay. We really like this unit and wanted to stick with it, hence we bought some more. I purchased 2 R16 DirecTV universal remotes for these 2 units and cannot program them to operate the DVR. Any suggestions? The remotes of course did not come with a user manual. any help is greatly appreciated!

The rc16 won't accept tivo code 01442, because the only SAT codes it accepts are 00001-00004.

But you can control the tivo partially with rc16 using code 20618 on either av1 or av2 device key. Partially because certain keys are locked to the directv device and are unavailable in the av1 or av2 devices.
