"The Montel Williams Show" will end its run at the end of this season after 17 years on the air.
CBS Television Distribution, the syndicated show's producer and distributor, is offering the compilation series "Best of Montel" for fall, which includes 52 weeks of highlight episodes from the show.
"We have been honored to have Montel as a part of our family for the past 17 years, and we're very excited that Montel will live on through these 'best of' episodes," said John Nogawski, president and COO of CBS TV Distribution.
In a similar move, Sony Pictures TV recently announced that it will cease production on veteran court show "Judge Hatchett" after the end of its current eighth season and cull from the series' library to present 52 themed weeks for fall.

With 17 years of shows to take from, I'd guess they can find a years worth of material.
I've only caught glimpses of these shows, Montel seemed from the little I've seen to have a slightly classier act than some of the others.

i can deal with MP...but no way dr fill!
though it's sooo funny on MP how they spend 20 minute saying if you are the dad will you do this/that etc. When they should be saying, you are the dad, what will you be doing.
whoever does that show has it backwards and someone should tell them
I do love when the girls say he MUST be the dad then it isnt....wahhhh:rolleyes:
They should have cancelled Montel after that stunt he pulled with that girl in Savannah.

Ditto. She was actually one of the ones I enjoyed, but not the one I'd miss the most.

Ug. She's the worst kind of con artist, preying on people in emotionally troubling times.

 That was my first thought as well.
I lost respect for Montel when Sylvia was on and a grieving audience member had brought a photo she had taken of her dead brother's bedroom. After the photo was developed, she noticed an image in the picture frame hanging over his bed. It seemed to be the ghostly image of a face -- which was NOT part of the picture and was not there when she took the photo in the otherwise empty bedroom. Montel had the producers put the image on the screen while Sylvia's deep raspy baritone voice confirmed the grieving sister's suspicions. Montel was totally in awe of Sylvia's amazing powers.
From what I saw, it was very clear to me that the large framed print hanging above the bed had glass covering the picture, and I could easily see reflections in the glass, including a doorway and the light and picture that was broadcast on the television screen in another room.
So the sister had snapped the ghostly reflection of the fleeting image of a news anchor on the t.v. in another room, yet Sylvia said that it was the ghost of her brother.
Ugh!! :down::down:
See ya' in another life, Sylvia. Or not, if we're lucky.

i always wondered why someone...on tv, in person etc...doesnt debunk people like this. all you have to do is get them on the right show and then ask them specific questions and watch them fail..game over.

So long as they don't cancel "The People's court" and Marilyn Milian, yum!

People have tried. They tend to get kicked out of the studio and they edit it out of the final show. There are many accounts of people trying here:

Hey!
She's real!
She said in her book a couple years ago that the pyramids were the result of aliens visiting earth!
12 years after Stargate was released.

That is a good way to honk off the Egyptians. :)
I did like Montell Williams as a host though. He didn't seem to be as creepy as some.
What is the actual end of his season, May?
