Yes. Both TiVos need to be on the same network, and you also need to go into your account at Tivo.com/My Tivo/Manage My Account and in the Settings column be sure you have set it to "Transfers ALLOWED".

I kind of think he's asking about multi-unit discounts. They do NOT have to be on the same network for those - only on the same account (and technically at the same address). In fact they do not have to be on a network at all if dial-up is available and desired.

Either way I think his question is answered.

If you get a second Tivo, GET LIFETIME! It's available to you for a limited time (Middle of Febtober, Trebek, IIRC) as an extisting subscriber. The box you add lifetime to must not have an activation history.

This would definitely solve your multi-unit discount issues.

Any Tivo regardless of it's activation history can be sub'd with lifetime until feb. 13 or maybe even Apr 2. Tivo has both dates listed as the offer end date.
