Series 2 DT any faster than plain Series 2?

With the spring rebate offer, the Series 2 DT is temptingly cheap. Besides the additional tuner, the main reason I'd want to get one to replace my "night lite" model is if it offered any better responsiveness in the GUI. Can anyone comment on whether under the 9.x software the DT is any faster moving between menus, accepting settings, etc. than the single-tuner Series 2? It seems like all the features loaded into the current Tivo software are really stressing the CPU/memory of the box. I guess I'm also interested if the the HD DVR model (not Series 3) is any faster, as well.

Between the S2 and S2DT (my brother has both) I've not noticed a discernible difference in responsiveness.

not really a big difference in repsonsiveness on the TiVo HD either.

Now all my various models are failrly responsive. The OP might have a problem TiVo that is slower than normal.

Which Series2 are you referring to? I believe the fastest ST S2 is the 240 and the 540 is the slowest.

I'm referring to non-DVD single tuner boxes. I don't have an experiences with the DVD TiVos.

I understand, I am adding a data point.

I am surprised that the DT and HD boxes aren't noticeably faster. I sure would expect them to be. My 595 takes at least 4 seconds, and often as much as 6 seconds to respond to the TiVo button when it has been idle for a while. Subsequent TiVo button response times are about 3 seconds. It was faster before 9.1, I hope it gets faster again with this next update. The 540 takes 3 to 4 seconds to respond when it has been idle a while and 2 seconds on subsequent TiVo Button pushes.

Trick play is much faster for both, but the 540 is still snappier than the 595.

Perhaps a DT user can post comparable times for comparison.
