Hopefully the strike will be over soon, but I was thinking about some old shows that would actually be airable with the writer's strike, I think.

So what old shows would you have liked to seen possibly be brought back to help fill in the void of the strike?

A couple that came to mind are:

Real People
That's Incredible

Herman's Head

I miss that show. The hot bitchy blond ended up being Ross's ex-wife. And the wimpy secretary ended up as the voice of Lisa Simpson.

I do remember that the female portion of his brain was pretty damned hot.

I forget who else was on that show. I think it lasted 2 seasons.

Are you talking about the old original episodes being re-aired, or new episodes of old shows?

If it's the former, then how about sitcoms I don't see reran much, like Night Court and Moonlighting.

HH was well after The Simpson's.

I think the male 1/2 of his brain was the quizno's baby.

How about Now and Again (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212395/)?

Now that Dennis Haysbert has found fame, I think people might be interested in watching it...oh, and I guess Eric Close is part of a hit show (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0321021/), too...

Mission Impossible. They could re-do "The Killer" a third time. :)

Umm, those shows require writers too.. for the bad jokes that John Davidson would tell.

I thought the OP's idea was to show reruns.

Since neither Nick or TV Land show it I wish they would bring Cheers back.

In the meantime I have been taping and watching old shows on GSN. Yesterday I saw an episode of What's My Line. The mystery guest was Eva Maria Saint. After the panel guesed who she was the host mentioned that she previously did tv before moving on to plays and movies. He said he hoped to see her on the small screen again some day. One of the panelists said, "Don't worry, one day her work will show up on the small screen". The host then asked incredulously, "Are you saying that you think one day they will show major motion pictures on tv"? The panelists said yes and the host replied, "I don't think so". I was cracking up. Wonder what they would have thought of the notion of downloading a movie over something called the internet to something called a laptop and watching it there.

I also saw an old episode of I've Got a Secret. An elderly couple came out and introduced themselves as Mr. and Mrs. Armstong. A chill went up my spine when I saw their secret: Our son just because an astronaut today. After one of the panelists eventaully guessed their secret the host said that their son Neil just because the first civilian to be made an astronaut. He then asked Mrs. Armstrong how she would feel if her son was the first person to land on the moon. She repied that she would be proud and would wish him well. I looked this up on Wikipedia and the episode aired in 1962 a full 7 years before he was to walk to the moon!

Homicide: Life in the Streets. It's on Sleuth but seems spotty at best.

I get Cheers every morning at 8am on TV Land

I would vote for any number of old shows- ditto the "I've Got a Secret", the old original "Password" and "Hollywood Squares" where they served liquor during the breaks. Old variety shows are always fun.

I desperately want some "St. Elsewhere" or "Boomtown" reruns.

I was confused to, Cheers is on while I wait for my ride in the morning. I enjoy Wings and Night Court before that in the AM also.

Greatest American Hero

St. Elsewhere would be fun - I never watched it the first round.

We always watched Columbo, McMillian and wife and McCloud on the mystery night (sunday?) that rotated them each week.

OK, this has become a thread of peoples favorite TV shows. I think we need more clarity from the OP as to what he means? Are we talking about reruns of old shows we've seen before? Are we talking about new episodes of recycled old shows that don't require SAG writers (such as old game shows, etc.)?

I guess I only ever check the schedule during primetime when there is nothing else on. Will have to set these to record as well!

That misspelling is HIGHLY ironic.

I don't know if this could be done, but I always thought it would be fun for one of the networks (or their cable affiliates) to take a week in time and replay the whole schedule (maybe even with popups expaining some of the pop culture going on during that time period). So lets say that NBC does a week in 1984. THey could show The Cosby Show, Cheers, Family Ties, Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, etc., on the nights they aired originally. With the strike, and the lack of new material, wouldn't something like this be a lot of fun?

muppet show reruns :)

- JonMy 5 year old loves the DVDs of the first two seasons. I have been getting songs from the 70s on iTunes to play in the car for him because he has been singing them around the house because he heard them done on the Muppet Show. The funniest is hearing him try to belt out "You Gotta Have Friends" along with Bette Midler. Cracks me up every time.

I was thinking V, as well -- but the miniseries, not the subsequent regular TV series. (At least, I hope the strike only continues long enough to air a miniseries.) If the OP allowed miniseries -- sorry, Television *EVENTS* ;) in the mix, I would love a re-airing of:

Lonesome Dove (the original, not any of the sequels)
