My Tivo has been empty for the past few weeks. I'm having withdrawals. :( What else is there to watch?

I recently got some new channels with old shows that I haven't seen in 30 years. You might do a title search and just slowly make your way through the alphabet (start with zero) to see what else might be out there.

I've also been dabbling with Veoh and Joost and other foreign programming.

That's funny, because even with the writer's strike, it seems like I've been recording almost as much new stuff (at least after the late night shows came back) as usual.. I'm slowly gaining space as I catch up (I've got 2 Heroes left I think, then will attack another show I have recorded a bunch of eps of).

And I was just commenting that I was recording more now than before the strike. Things that I am recording:
Psych
Medium
Dirty Jobs
Anthony Bourdain:No Reservations
Lost-starting this week
Late Show with David Letterman
Air Emergency-just noticed a new episode that my DVR picked up.

All these are new and I know some other shows on these networks are new too, just that I have never gotten into them.

I've got the last season of Survivor, every episode of Nip Tuck, 2nd seasons of Rome and Life on Mars waiting to be watched. I've never seen any of these.

Over the last couple months I've been watching Kingdom, Torchwood, New Tricks, Sea Patrol, City Homicide.

If my "normal" shows aren't on, I investigate new things.

My Tivo's were starting to clear out but are now back to almost full capacity. I've never really watched reality shows other than Amazing Race and Hell's Kitchen but I've started recording and watching My Fair Brady, Scott Baio..., and Rock of Love 2 just to kill the time. But I've got so much other stuff from earlier this season and season's before that it wouldn't bother me if the strike went on to next season. If you can't find anything to watch, you might be able to pick up a new show or two with Suggestions on. Netflix is another option. I've been getting movies from them and plan on watching Dead Wood too.

On my two Tivo's I still have full seasons of:

This past season of Amazing Race
The Bronx is Burning
Friday Night Lights
Weeds
Dexter
Brotherhood
Rome
The Tudors
Burn Notice
Sleeper Cell: American Terror
Gossip Girl
Tin Man

A bunch of episodes for:

Big Love
Life is Wild
Dirty Sexy Money
K-Ville

A couple of episodes of:

Journeyman
Ugly Betty
The Universe
Stargate: Atlantis
Prison Break
Survivor: China
American Gladiators
Ghost Whisperer
Stargate: SG-1
Kyle XY
Breaking Bad
Terminator
Chuck
Bionic Woman
Mad Men
The Shield
Battlestar Galactica: Razor

I ran out of first-tier shows well before the writer's strike. However, my Tivo is still full of second-tier shows & fillers.

A new House is coming on tonight right?Yes, there are 3 episodes left.Don't forget that one of the three is on after the Super Bowl (that's immediately after the post-game show, including on the west coast).

You want a station without repeats? Watch TVG.

Travel Channel is showing the latest Michael Palin travel series, New Europe. I'm sure there are a few Pole to Pole or Sahara fans out there.

I've been catching up on (for me) B-list shows that I never had the time to watch when all my favorite stuff was on. Top of that list is Crossing Jordan, which turns out to be better than I expected - plus it's fun as a Bostonian to keep track of all the Bostonisms they get wrong, like referring to "the 128" when no one east of the Mississippi uses "the" in front of a highway number, or hilariously mispronouncing the names of some local towns.

I think mine is half full. I am still recording stuff though. I just saw and episode of Monster quest about rods, very interesting and there is planty more plus Netflix and books.

Me, I'm clearing out my DTV DVR, (only have a few Planet Eaths in HD left and a couple of movies.) When that is done, and if none of my regular shows are on I'll start going through my DVD collection. I have about 15 things there I still need to watch TV series and movies etc...

When those are done and the strike is not over I guess I'll keep reading the books and magazines I've accumulated (not that I don't read them now, but not as much as I used to). All that plus my regular astronomical observing when the sky is clear should keep me busy for quite a while.

I think they're on at least the 3rd run of most of the episodes. It was at least a few in before I started watching it (a rarity for me, since I wasn't sure I'd be able to catch all of the eps again soon)... and somehow I missed a significant chunk of the "mom & Raj are smoking" episode. It was then rerun later... and I saw in the guide again recently (i.e. reran this week or is going to next week). I guess that's at least 4.

BTW, I don't think the thread was intentionally about stuff we have recorded but not watched yet. My first reply was meant to imply that I'm still recording a decent amount of _new_ stuff (at least new to me, sometimes includes PBS reruns of documentaries).

I'm *trying* to not record stuff so that I intentionally can drain down some of the tons of stuff I've recorded.

We are still backed up to mid-November. We'd be a lot further along but we have watched Lost from the beginning (9 episodes to go) over the past 3 weeks. But that's only about 3 episodes each of about 20 season passes, and we have about 4-5, in some cases 7 or 8 of most of the shows in our Playlist. So we'd still have plenty to watch.
