Wow that was a big bag of suck, Rodney should spanked the Kid.

I knew this was going to be pretty bad when I saw it was another Rennaisance Faire episode. I knew it was going to suck the big one when I saw it was going to be a kid-centric Rennaisance Faire episode. The portrait was the only redeemable part of this story. Whoever is in charge of this show should be punched in the face.

I realize that most kids are lousy actors, but if you're going to write an episode that centers on a kid, don't you think you ought to find a kid with at least minimal acting skills first? Or else write the script so that the kid's acting skills don't matter? Watching that poor kid choke on every single line was painful and embarrassing.

I like Sheppard and Rodney but I agree about the episode. The painting at the end was funny but it was just the payoff to the same joke they kept riffing on about Harmony's crushes. I'm hoping "Outcast" next week is much better. Based on spoilers it sounds like it should be since it has some Sheppard backstory and ties into overall arcs.

3 things:

1) Loved the portrait!
2) Where have I seen that girl before? I seem to recall she played the same type of character attitude-wise...
3) Rodney sure got over his almost-fiance pretty quickly.

If you're like me, you're waiting for what happens in episode 18 (check the season's episode guide to be spoiled).

She was Adria in SG1 (well the 7 year old version) for one episode.

Was it wrong that I was actually rooting for the Genii in this episode? :)

So, did the rest of the cast all come down with the flu or something? This episode must have cost only slightly more to make than a clip show.

/looks it up

I assume you're referring to the one with
Teal'C and the Midway station?
Ok, that might be good.

I'm still waiting for the continuation of the Weir commanding her own ship thingy we saw back by the Replicator homeworld.

I fluff show for sure, but few high points.

--micro drones. They might be fun to see in future shows
--Rodney steps up when it matters. He didn't fall down, he covered the girl when the shots were getting close
--The painting. I expected to see Rodney looking like Rambo, Shepherd cowering in the background is what made me chuckle.

As for something to look forward to, I think the Ep18 mention refers to
The return of Dr. Beckett

Man do I hate snotty kids. That alone made the episode hard to watch since I wanted to smack the living sheet out of her instantly. But of course I could watch Shepherd all damn day so it evened out.

Great, "Babysitters in Space!" (think back to the Muppets)

What another horrible episode. They've really managed to wreck the franchise.

Answer to #2:
She is the sister on the Nickelodean show Drake and Josh. She plays the exact same character type on that show.

Ever watch an episode of a show that is so mind-numbingly tedious and bad that you repeatedly drop off to sleep while attempting to watch it, and you wind up spending more time hitting the "8-second rewind" button than actually watching the show progress forward? For me, that was this episode.

There are enough interesting open storylines that they could be pursuing that it is all the more painful when we are made to endure filler episodes like this.

Other than that, I loved it!

I actually liked this episode. I saw the ending from a mile away though, but it wasn't bad.

Nope -- Harmony was played by Jodelle Ferland (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0272706/). As Wedgecon said above, she also played young Adria on SG1.

Sister (Megan) on "Drake and Josh" is Miranda Cosgrove (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1388927/).

What? You mean an little kid is no good at playing an annoying little kid :D

I actually thought it was a very bad portrayal of an annoying little kid. Annoying little kids tend to be a lot more fluent at being annoying, not seeming as though they're having to struggle to get each line out.

OK, I'm probably taking you way too seriously, but I'm sure you've seen non-actor celebrities portraying themselves in movies or TV shows, and doing a lousy job--acting all stiff and unnatural. Being something doesn't mean you're necessarily any good at acting like that something onscreen. It's two entirely different skill-sets!

Oh man, even though I guessed what it would look like, the painting at the end cracked us up! The payoff was worth an otherwise ho-humisode.
