Well, I have heard that Comcast is now offering TiVo service, and so I have signed up to get it installed on February the 2nd. However, I do have a couple of questions. First of all, I actually had a TiVo unit for a brief period of time YEARS AGO back in 2003. But back then, DVRs were not ready for prime-time yet, and there are quite a few things I didn't like about it. First of all, it was a standalone unit. But also, there were problems with the closed-captioning. It would occasionally drop 2 letters. Do any of you know if this problem has improved? Have any of you had closed-captioning problems with Comcast TiVo? And also, I see from looking at the Manual online, that you get a special TiVo remote when you get it installed. Will the Tech be bringing one, or will they say to just use the one I already have (for the Comcast DVR)?

I have never witnessed any problems with closed captioning. You will be getting a tivo type remote. They should be bringing it with them the day of the install. If they don't, make sure that they know you want one and they should mail it to you free of charge.
Here is a picture of the comcast tivo remote.

Okay, I have another question to ask:
Is it possible to have this new TiVo software on more than one TV in the house? Will it cost extra, and/or will I need another new box?

you will need another moto box on the other TV. But for the $2.95 charge for TiVo, you can get that on as many boxes as you want and it won't cost you more than $2.95. It will cost you however for the rental charge on extra boxes. Not sure if this is clear, here is an example.
Lets say you currently have 3 moto boxes all running comcast dvr software. Lets also say your current monthly bill is $120. Now you call up comcast and order TiVo software on all 3 boxes that you have. Your bill will now be $122.95.

I currently only have one DVR box. The other 2 boxes are just plain Motorola digital boxes with no DVR on them. So I guess I'll have to replace one of those.
