no stereo sound, only mono!

I have a new THD w/ 9.2 s/w, installed a Comcast M3 ccard that
I picked up at our local Comcast office.
I can only get mono/center channel like sound NOT stereo.
Using the two RCA plugs with component video and analog receiver. I do not have Dolby or HDMI capabilities.
This problem occurs with SD and all HD digital channels.
My Tivo DT passed stereo analog perfectly.
Is this a common issue and if so will a future s/w update correct it?
(build date of my THD box is 9-12-2007)

Sounds like your receiver is trying to decode Dolby ProLogic.

I think there's a bug with the Tivo where it only plays mono sound over analog ports from SD digital channels? Although I thought that was fixed with the last update.

In any case, most people are connecting their HD Tivo using optical or HDMI, so you likely won't get a lot of help here.

Did you set the audio output on Tivo to DD > PCM to get the stereo sound?

Thanks for your reply, yes I have tried both Dolby and DD to PCM, neither one help :mad:

They still haven't fixed this problem? It was there back in the Summer. The TiVo people didn't seem to understand the difference between mono and stereo. They assumed since there was audio coming out of two speakers that it was a stereo signal. But it wasa mono signal being sent to two speakers.
The problem occured with me on analog recordings. Any programming that was digital was fine. Once I went to FIOS I was fine, but with COmcast there were over 70 channels that were still only analog.
