View Full Version : Deleting too many shows too fast makes TivoHD "lock up"?

I've been able to reproduce this 3x so far.

I go into my Suggestions and start deleting a bunch of programs.

Eventually the TivoHD kicks me out of there to the main screen and then becomes totally unresponsive for about 10 minutes. You can't watch LiveTV, nothing. Short of pulling the power (or let it sit there long enough).

This sounds similar to the MythTV box I had but that was due to the large files for HD content.

In this case, 99% of the Suggestions are SD content.

Never noticed this on any of my Series 2 Tivo's before (and can't make it happen on them either).

I'm not sure I've seen it lock up, but I've had it do weird things. If you delete a LOT, it seems to slow down as it puts things in the Deleted folder - it definitely isn't very fast at that, and the more you do, the slower it gets. I do it in bursts.

I also have had it, when deleting several items in a folder, suddenly claim the folder is empty. I have to go back out, let the screen refresh, and go back in.

I think I HAVE had it lock up, but don't know under what circumstances. and I can't say I've waited 10 minutes to find out if it recovers.

I've seen that behavior in my S3. Why delete suggestions? They're the first to go after the recently deleted folder, iirc.
