I was watching a recorded program today and left the room. When I came back, I had the GSOD (thanks to this forum, I was able to recognize what the green screen was).
After about an hour, the picture did, in fact, come back on (although it doesn't look as "sharp" as it was before the green screen.
Does getting the GSOD "always" mean that the TiVo is dead/dying and needs to be replaced? Or is there a chance that this receiver might last for a while longer?
I did read some of the posts about installing new hard drives, etc., but that's wayyyyy over my head. I would have to go out and buy a new TiVo. Since my husband is disabled and watches tv constantly, our unit probably records about 10 hours a day and is used about 16 hours a day.
