Turning off Tivo series2 ST 80GB?

How do I turn this off? There's a button on the remote to turn off the TV but no button to turn off Tivo.

You don't, it's always running, buffering and recording.

Even standby isn't off,
it just turns off the video/audio output and the front panel lights.

You cannot turn it off, as it's meant to be constantly recording. The only true way to shut it off is to unplug it.

You can put it on Standby by hitting the TiVo button and going to the Settings menu, and it's at the bottom. That has some minor advantages (allows RF passthru to your TV) but there's nothing wrong with constantly leaving it on.

If you need to turn it off because you are trying to move it or something you can just pull the plug (after checking to make sure there are no current recordings or recordings ready to start).
