I recently switched from a PC to an iMac with Intel chip, and have installed a virtual PC installed inside the iMac using the Parallels software. When I tried to access Tivo To Go through the VPC, when I tried to get recordings to transfer, I kept getting the message: "No Tivo DVRs are available on the network). The virtual PC was not finding the Tivo signal.
A computer-wise friend helped me fix it as follows: the problem was that the virtual PC was using a different IP address from my router's. The easy fix was to go into edit Virtual PC, select the "Network Adaptor" options tab. Under the "Emulation" section, uncheck "Shared Networking" and check "Bridged Ethernet" instead. It worked perfectly!
