I just ordered a TiVo HD, a new 42 inch HD tv, and have Comcast scheduled to come upgrade my cable service to HD (along with a few other things). Will the TiVo come will *all* the cables I need? I just use a coax cable for my current standard definition tv, so I don't have any cables bought for HD. So, do I need to buy any, or will my new TiVo have everything I need?

The TiVoHD includes a set of both component and composite cables. Should be all you need to get connected.

Note that in order to get HiDef pictures from your TiVo to your new TV, you will need to use the Component cables that came in the box. Although I never used mine (I already had a set laying around) they appear to be decent quality. Don't use the Composite (has yellow/red/white ends) except for the audio part (red/wht) otherwise you will only get a standard def picture. Peel off the yellow part of the cable and you're good to go.
Another option is to use the HDMI connectors. They sort of look like a USB connector from your computer, and have the advantage of carrying both HiDef video AND surround sound audio, all in one cable. The TiVoHD does not come with this cable, you will need to purchase it separately.
Oh, and don't think you need to pay a "monstrous" price for cabling. If you pay more than $20 for an average length HDMI cable you're paying too much. Monoprice.com and others have good cables for fair prices.

Unless you want to use HDMI to connect to your new HDTV ... then you'll need to purchase an HDMI cable.

Did you tell Comcast that you were getting a Tivo HD and needed them to bring cablecards?

Yeah, Comcast is bringing cable cards. The salesman on the phone told me I could get them for free if I went down to the Comcast office, or they would charge to bring them to me. Well, after going down to the Comcast office on Friday (45 minutes away), I found out that was NOT true. At first they tried to tell me that it was $6.95 per card per month and in order to give them to me, they'd have to cancel my already scheduled installation. After calling back Comcast and the woman behind the counter talked to other Comcast people, I *think* they are not going to charge me for them. The Comcast guy is bringing one.
After all that, I think I got a good deal, so hopefully it is worth all the trouble. I'm getting Comcast triple play (cable, phone, and internet) plus HD service and HBO for 6 months for $102 (after taxes) per month.

The Comcast guy is bringing one.
If he's only bringing one, make sure it's an M-Card.
