I recently purchased a hacked HDVR2 and was under the impression I would be able to record music from the XM channels but I get the standard message. Is there a way to turn this feature on or did that part of the hack have to be done when it was originally hacked? I have not experimented with it's networking abilities yet as I don't have a network cable anywhere close yet. I am going to go with the electrical system networking solution from Netgear. Will this work for me? Obviously, I am a newbie but trying to learn as much as I can so I can use my unit to it's potential.

I believe there is a hack to enable recording XM broadcasts - by Alphawolf on DDB.

If you have 6.2a, check page 6 of tivoapp patches thread at the other forum.

but on a similar related note, the TivoHD will record the music channels provided from the cable company. I just discovered this last night and was pleasantly suprised.
I haven't yet checked to see if TivoDesktop will allow for "backup". My guess is no.
