I just set up my first HD tivo about two weeks ago. Got the cable card (m steam) installed and got all the HD programming at that time. About a week later Cox San Diego announces a new HD line up of channels which I could see immediately on my COX Digital cable box. I could not get these new HD channels on my HD Tivo even if I manually input the station numbers.
I have now installed my second HD tivo. Got the cable card (M stream) installed last Friday. Went through the set up process and did not see the new channels. Looked at the channel lineup and saw all the new HD channels but they were unchecked. I checked them all and they all work. Only problem there is no program guide info (all say "to be announced") and there is the station ID for example "HGTV HD". The new HD channels are there and viewable on my new HD Tivo.
It appears Tivo does know about these new HD channels even though they do not have the program info. Went to http://www.zap2it.com/ where Tivo gets its program info and the new HD channels are not in their guide at this time.
OK, I went back to my first box and checked the channel line-up. The new HD channels are still not there. I ran the Tivo set-up again and downloaded the same cox line-up and program info. I then checked the channel line-up on the Tivo and still no new HD channels.
Why can't I get the new HD channels on my first HD box?? Tivo knows they exist since they are on my second box which was just installed.
Here is the new COX HD line-up:

Have you tried rebooting the first box? I'm on Cox San Diego and I've been getting these 12 new channels since the 12/22 (a 13th, Travel Channel HD, is supposedly on its way for channel 760). I had to reboot my TiVo S3 to get some of them to appear. I reported the presence of the new channels to TiVo then amd still haven't seen guide data appear, but they say that it can take 5-7 business days. (Just because Zap2It knows about the line-up change doesn't mean that TiVo knows, though Zap2It is a Tribune Media product).
You might want to check out hdtv.forsandiego.com (http://hdtv.forsandiego.com/)--these new channels have been discussed in threads of its Cox Forum (http://hdtv.forsandiego.com/messages/3/3.html?1198962861), here (http://hdtv.forsandiego.com/messages/3/6291.html?1198474959), here (http://hdtv.forsandiego.com/messages/3/6202.html?1198409765) and here (http://hdtv.forsandiego.com/messages/3/6293.html?1198943769).

So when you say reboot you mean unplug the box and wait a few minutes?? Then did the new channels appear in the line-up or did you have to go through the set-up again?? Thanks.

Since the new channels were added after your initial THD cablecards were authorized by cableco you may just need to call and tell them to re-authorize them.

Thanks.No--in the UI, I went to "Tivo Central->Messages & Settings->Restart or Reset System" and selected "Restart the TiVo Digital Media Recorder". It's what in computing is called a "warm boot". Unplug and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in is called a "cold boot" which will work as well, but is probably unnecessary. Restarting will make it pick up the latest and greatest EMMs (Entitlement Management Messages) being broadcast to your CableCARDs by the network. My CableCARDs had picked up processed messages authorizing them to decode about half of the new channels; after I warm booted, it'd authorized them all.

BTW--Zap2It doesn't know that those channels are available in my area. Cox has been upgrading their system from 750 MHz capacity to 1 GHz; I presume that they're getting the bandwidth for the additions from the expansion. This upgrade has come up in groups of communities in three batches--the first group got the channels back in November and the second in December; Oceanside was in the second group. (When they first announced this, they estimated that the 2nd group would be in January and that the 3rd--including El Cajon, Poway and Alpine--would be up until April. Maybe you live in one of those first group communities.

It worked!!
I did the soft reboot, then went to the channel list and attempted to locate the new HD channels. I inputted one of the new channels (while in the channel list) and it caused the Tivo to self-reboot after I just rebooted it.
Once it came back up it appeared to download the channel list from Cox. Now I'm getting all the new HD channels. No program info but now I can watch them.

I just moved to SD in the North Park area (state streets). I was curious if the HD tivo boxes work well and cox knows what they are doing in this area. Can you help set me up for success with any tips when they get here?
Thanks!

Hi there.
I have the new HD channels listed in my guide but when I tune to them I get a blank screen. What should I do?

What's your subscription status? I believe that they all require expanded basic (which you don't have to buy to get other digital channels). If you do have expanded basic, where are you located? AFAIK, these are still not available in every Cox San Diego community--this (http://www.cox.com/sandiego/whatsnew/20071213-newhd.asp?sc_cid=sd_emc_newsletter&) page at Cox gives a list of current communities where the new channels are active. Someone in Allied Gardens recently complained at hdtv.forsandiego.com that he wasn't getting them and neither Allied Gardens are any of its surrounding communities is on that list. El Cajon, Poway and Alpine are also known not to have the channels up yet.
BTW, not to rub more salt on, but the Travel Channel HD recently came up on 760 here in Oceanside and elsewhere.

Reboot your tivo. That is what I did and it caused the cable card to get the new lineup. I think it's called restart in the menu and takes about 10-15 minutes. If you don't see them as you scroll through your channels make sure they are checked off in the channel line-up.
