It's on Discovery HD. Anyone else watch it? It's from 2005 but I just caught it. It has 4 episodes detailing a year (2004) of hangin out with the Blie Angels. I never knew that they didn't have "understudies". If someone is sick enough to not be able to perform, they don't replace that person. Funny that the two new guys both commented that the uniform was tight.
I saw it on its first run - great. It's on DVD as well.
The uniforms are right because each one is custom-tailored for that pilot (unlike regular uniforms, which are standard sizes).
As for having spares, other than a jet, they really cannot have a backup pilot. Each position is unique, so it would mean there would be another set of pilots that have to train and keep current, which is a logistical nightmare for something that happens relatively rarely. (Yeah, people get sick, but not for long).

I caught it in HD on Discovery HD. The flying shots are phenomenal. It's too bad I don't get The Military Channel in HD.
