View Full Version : Pixelation on only two (local) HD Channels

I've read over the Pixelation thread above, but my issues seems different. I don't have Pixelation on all channels, only two (local Fox and CBS HD channels). It varies from completely unwatchable (nothing but colorful blocks on screen) to perfect picture with frequent audio dropouts. The problem began about a month and a half ago, but seems to be getting worse.

Any ideas? The signal strength for each channel is above 90, although sometimes it will show at above 90 but indicate that there is "No signal" on the other tuner (weird).

I had Comcast out here and they tell me that the signal from the line is perfect. They're sending me some new Cable Cards this weekend, but I don't know if that would help. Should I try amplifying / attenuating the signals?

Help please - no Fox or CBS means no Sunday football.

Same thing is happening to me also. Just started a week ago on my HR10-250. Doesn't happen on HR20. Weird.

Same channels (Fox and CBS)? Maybe it's a station problem?

Edit: I used to have the HR10-250: are you using the OTA antenna, or the DirecTV channel feeds?

Any advice on this one? I'm sitting in my living room today unable to watch the Playoff's because CBS and Fox are both pixelating horribly.

Again - I'm using Comcast, signal strength is between 95 and 100, and SNR is at about 35. Will attenuating work as a fix, or is this limited to FiOS?

I've had Comcast out here 3 times now. They've checked the line, swapped the cable cards...nothing works. I'm getting really, really tired of this.

Update: I checked, and both of the pixelating channels are on the same frequency: 615000.

What could be causing this? Interference? Another piece of electronic equipment? My cable modem is behind my TV, and I've got an XBox360, Wii, Receiver (and TV of course) in close proximity.
