View Full Version : I'm hoping I have a card issue and not a TiVo issue...

So after a month or so of operation, I've given up trying to fix my pixelation with FiOS which is

Only on two channels
Only occurs when there's a button press on the TiVo, any button (vol, ch banner, trickplay, etc)

I've tried attenuators; I've replaced the cabling; I've replaced the splitter. Still, I get uncorrected errors on two channels (food network and HGTV) on just one of my two THD boxes. The other box (coming from same splitter) is just fine. I gave up on the self-service route and finally have FiOS coming out today to switch out the cards to see if that's the issue. I'm hoping it is, because I'd rather not switch out the TiVo if I can avoid it (hassle of sending back to Amazon, moving recordings, etc.)

In addition to the pixelation, I've seen one other intermittent error -- an "invisible line" 3/4 way down the picture in some recordings. Almost looks like video is shifting ever so slightly in just a thin wavy line. I thought it just happened on some recording and was in the recording itself, but that may not be the case. Just last night I saw it when viewing 20/20 recording; my daughter wanted to see the "TiVo guy and the dog" so I hit the TiVo animation (TiVo button + 0). The same glitch appeared for a quick couple of seconds, then disappeared for remainder of video. When going back to 20/20 and rewinding, the glitch was nowhere to be found. So I'm seriously hoping this isn't a larger hardware issue....

Anybody seen glitches on just 1-2 channels? Or playback/video errors that aren't "blocking" errors, more like a line?
