The end of the year means listing the top ten movies, TV, DVD, etc. of 2007 by Entertainment Weekly. Here are the top 10 TV shows:
1. 30 Rock
2. Pushing Daisies
3. Sopranos
4. Planet Earth
5. Big Love
6. Dirty Sexy Money
7. Flight of the Conchords
8. Mad Men
9. Brotherhood
10. Andy Barker, PI

But EW has more than one TV critic, so here's a second opinion.
1. 30 Rock
2. Sopranos
3. CSI
4. Friday Night Lights
5. Tell Me You Love Me
6. Frisky Dingo (Adult Swim)
7. Burn Notice
8. Desperate Housewives
9. Life
10. Life of Ryan

I don't watch many of these shows. There's also a lot of representation of HBO shows (Time/Warner owns EW and HBO). No Dexter? Reaper?

Let the comments begin!

If anyone wants to know the list of movies, DVD's, music and books, just let me know.

I feel a lot better about the first list than the second, despite my fondness for FNL.

My comment is that both critics are out of their freakin' minds.

like 2nd one better, has FNL and Burn Notice, but Desperate Housewives? and CSI? I don't think so.

I'm glad 30 Rock is at the top of both lists-but the omission of Dexter is just unforgivable. Can't stand Pushing Daisies and CSI is too tired at this point to be on any top ten lists.

Yay for Flight of the Conchords!

30 rock, woo awesome show

I enjoy reaper, but no WAY it should be in the top anything, so good call on not including it :D :D

Watch
1. 30 Rock
2. Pushing Daisies
3. Sopranos
4. Planet Earth

1. 30 Rock
2. Sopranos
4. Friday Night Lights (how can the other guy NOT have this in the top 5???)

Yeah, can't really agree with the second list with the exception of 30 Rock. First list is ok. I stopped liking the Sopranos after the third season and stopped watching after the fifth so I can't tell if it's good or not.

Pushing Daisies is a pretty good show, but in my opinion Chuck should have been after 30 Rock. It started off as a goofy show I liked, but quickly beat Heroes as my most anticipated show of the week.

I really enjoyed Andy Barker too, but it mostly just made me miss Andy Richter controls the universe.

Nice to see FNL and Burn Notice on the second list.

I like Pushing Daisies but can't really agree with its inclusion on the list. I think it is a little too silly at times and the two leads get a little tiring.

Hard to believe that The Office can be left off. I think it is as good as ever.

First list:
Andy Barker, PI?!?
Flight of the Conchords?!?

And from the second:
Frisky Dingo?!?
Life of Ryan?!?

They really thought that these shows were better than all of the other 100+ shows they could have chosen? List 2 person thought that Life of Ryan was better than Mad Men, BSG, House...

I don't watch enough TV to put together a 10 best list, but "Andy Barker" was a really good show. I also liked "Journeyman" a lot.

But I have only watched 2 of the shows mentioned on those lists ("Andy Barker", "Planet Earth") + the pilot of "Life".

Andy Barker was a good show-but definitely not top ten material.

And screw the haters! Flight of the Conchords is awesome!!

This list loses all credibility without Dexter or Journeyman.

I would rank life of ryan ahead of all those shows.

Although it does get worst voice-over in the history of entertainment.

I've never even heard of Life of Ryan, but it has to be awful. It's an MTV reality show.

The first list not having FNL in it is a shame. Good thing the second one does. Fantastic show. (although in fairness, the first list DID include Planet Earth, which is a pretty bold pick)

I liked "Frisky Dingo," but I definitely question it being on a 10 best list. (It wasn't even my favorite Adult Swim show -- that would be "Robot Chicken.")

I do wholeheartedly agree with the positioning of "30 Rock" and "Pushing Daisies."

And then "Andy Barker" is the only other show on either list that I've seen -- I feel the same way about it that I do about "Frisky Dingo," except that "Andy Barker" was a little less, uh, downright weird.

I like about 50% of the Adult Swim shows, but Frisky Dingo doesn't even make that half.

I just finished up watching season 1 of 30 rock on netflix watch it now. I guess it is an ok show. I feel the same way about 30 rock as I do how I met your mother. I really dislike the main character of each show ted and liz. I love the supporting cast on each show. Each show has 1 break out character jack and barney were most of the laughs come from. I just don't see it being the best show on TV.

No surprise there. It didn't get a single Emmy nomination in 2007.

maybe because there were no new episodes in 2007? if it was omitted for '06 for Season 4, we'll then they was robbed!

yeah, the 4th season aired at the end of 2006, no nominations for that.

EW has been one of the biggest advocates for the wire. They have called it the best show on TV on at least one occasion.

I don't think the last season of the sopranos belongs on the list at all. Isn't Rome from 2007, and The Shield? Is FNL 2007 a reference to season 2 or season 1? I'm surprised anyone likes Tell Me You Love Me ... maybe they just really enjoy props that squirt.

Life of Ryan is the perfect example of an "emo" teenager. I have to admit this show is a guilty pleasure for the pure comedy of their cheesy, sentimental flashbacks to happier times. They have at least one of these every episode.

And with those lists, I immediately discount every opinion that EW has ever held or will ever hold. Completely laughable.

Emmy nominations are even more meaningless than EW top ten lists.

This list loses all credibility without Dexter or Journeyman.+1, especially Journeyman. :)

My comment is that both critics are out of their freakin' minds.+1 on that too. But I guess that's the great thing about the quantity and diversity of shows on today. There's something for everyone, even crazy people!

I came in prepared to bitch about the exclusion of Burn Notice...but, well, what do you know.

No mention of Dexter is pretty terrible, though. I don't think that any show was better done this year.

Robot Chicken, still the best thing on Adult Swim.

I've never watched a bunch of those shows, and I don't even know what "Tell Me You Love Me" is.

I also think The Shield should be on the list.

*shakes fist*

No Liz, no 30 Rock. Jack (Alec Baldwin) a breakout character? He has been doing understated tongue and cheek comedy for years. You must mean Kenneth...

What I ment was 1 character who gets most of the good lines and laughs. Jack and barney get by far the best lines for each show and the most laughs.

I am just sick of the liz type character. The good looking girl who can not find anyone is old and played out. I had to watch that story line for years on according to jim and other commedies. The only story line I liked for liz was when jack set her up with a woman.
