Just setup my Series 3 (past Series 2 owner).

I setup some Season Passes for things like ER and Las Vegas. Thing is, when I search for those programs it only finds the non high def channel episodes coming next week. If I choose search by time/channel, I can find the upcoming ER and Las Vegas and added the Season Pass that way. I checked the Channel list and my HD channels are selected.

My problem is the Season Pass Manager is not setting them up to be recorded at all (I'm pretty sure they are new episodes). If I look at the Season Pass I can see the upcoming episodes but only in the NON high def channel (again not to be recorded). So it's not going to record anything for these programs (or any others I'm working on).

Any ideas?

Do I need to unselect the non HD versions on channels on the Channel List?
I did set the Season Pass to only First Run episodes. Is TIVO smart enough to know that the HD channel and non-hd channels programs are both new?

Thanks for any help.

If you just received and setup your Series3, it will take several days for the TiVo to download the latest software (9.2a) and index guide data. Searches may not return correct results until guide data is indexed.

Season passes will only record from channels they are created on. If you opened your list of Season passes and only saw a season pass for that program on the SD channel, then you need to cancel that and re-create the season pass on the HD channel.

If you only intend to record from HD channels, I would deselect the SD channels so as to avoid confusion and/or accidental recordings from those.

Maybe it's the Guide Data not being indexed right. I now get why it's not on the SD channels. All of the season passes are setup on the HD channel since I was able to find them through the guide and they are there.

I should have version 9.2 as I went through the initial setup without having the Cablecards in it and it did update the software subsequently. But, I obviously had to go through the whole setup again today that I receive all of the channels through the cablecard.

I did force it to reconnect to the Tivo service and pull in data after the 1st communication. And it does seem to have 2 weeks worth of data..but maybe the indexing hasn't caught up yet even though I did force it to restart also. I'll give it a few more days and see if things clear up.

Thanksfully..I've always got the Series 2 upstairs as a backup.

Give it another 48 hours to index the guide data. By then, everything should be fine.

Yup...everything magically finally showed up. Thanks.
