Does anyone know if the Tivo HD offers a full screen mode to fill up a 16:9 screen on content that isn't HD? My HDVR2 has it even though it's not HD compatible and it's been nice. I tell it my tv is 16:9 and all content fills the entire screen and it doesn't look stretched. I've just ordered the TivoHD and am hoping for a similar feature for the non-HD content.
Thanks

There's no way to stretch 4:3 content to a 16:9 aspect ratio without distorting it.

As bkdtv said, the Aspect button on the remote will do just what you want for non-HD content. Just switch from "Panel" mode to "Full" mode.

However, sometimes you will find 4:3 programming on channels that are being broadcast in HD. I have found no way of making the TiVoHD fill the 16:9 frame when viewing such content. I'd love to hear of a way to make "Full" mode work when viewing 720p or 1080i content. I watch in "Panel" mode, but I have friends who are driven batty by this.

Great, thanks for the advice. As I mentioned, my HDVR2 which is not HD, has the ability to fill my 16:9 HDTV, and suprisingly it doesn't look distrorted (to me). It also does a pretty good job of not looking pixelated which is one reason why I've waited so long to move to something else. I'm glad to hear that I'll have similar functionality with the TIVO HD. I also hear that I can force the TIVO HD to display everything in 720p or 1080i ? Does that mean it upconverts?

It would be nice to see a non-linear scaler in the TiVo. Perhaps a feature suggestion? :)
