Called 1800 for a cable card was told I could pick it up at the Venice FL office and install it myself OK
Went to the Venice office and was told they don't have any cards and that they stopped trying to have their techs install the card because they don't work!! Also was told that when they had the techs install the cards that it cost $99.00.

Once again can't wait for FIOS.

The folks in the Venice office were evidently pulling your leg. Go back and talk to someone who knows what they're talking about.

Went to the Port Charlotte FL office instead of back to Venice. They also did not have cards in the office but would schedule a tech visit to install the card This will cost $29.00 and $6.95 a month rather then 99.00 for the visit. They're due here on Thursday afternoon. We shall now see if they come and install the card or weather they have the card after reading the other post about the supply issue about the cards.:confused:

$6.95 a month for one cablecard? That's outrageous. According to Comcast's FAQ they are supposed to only charge you $1.91 for any additional cablecards. The first is included in your primary outlet fee. It does say that may vary by location, but $6.95 sounds high.

The $6.95 might not be for the CableCard, but rather might be an additional outlet or digital mirroring fee.

Read closer... its 1.91 for another card for the same device. If you want one for another tv its 6.95

Also, they aren't pulling your leg... there are issues with the cable cards. Plus they want you to have a box :)
