View Full Version : Named Tivos not showing

Hello
I just installed 2 HD Tivos and I see that the new names I gave them are not showing up. They display as DVR only. I have 4 other Tivos and they are displayed correctly. I already restarted them, reset the router. What else???
Already received an update over night

I have pretty much the same situation and question.

I have 3 series 2 units, and just installed a new TivoHD(3weeks ago).

I named the TivoHD at Tivo.com and enabled transfers. This unit shows named correctly at Tivo.com and on it's own System Info screen it is named correctly.

However the Tivo HD just shows as "DVR" on the Now Playing lists of the other 3 series 2 units.

Just a curiosity since having only one Tivo HD, I know what the "DVR" is.

I know you said you did, but restart your TiVo's again and make sure the MAK is the same. Also make sure that Transfers are allowed on tivo.com. Then try forcing a connection. If the TiVo's are new to the account, it may take a couple of days for the info to sync up. Other than that, I am at a loss.

Agree. I had the same problem when renaming. Finally forced all to call in to TiVo then did a restart on all. They all picked up new names and listed each other correctly in Now Playing.

It may need a few connections & some time to get the new names. I know when I had to change the name of one of my TiVos (for troubleshooting purposes), I'm pretty sure it took a day or two for the change to really come through. You may very well find that it just needs time.

it's been since Thursday but I'll give it another day or so. I'm curious if it is because they are Tivo HD boxes. Having Cablecards installed today but I on't think that will change anything.
