Does anyone own a Canon HG10 and successfully transferred videos created on this camcorder to their TiVo via the TiVo desktop Plus software?

I am considering purchasing this camcorder, but only if the videos will transfer to the TiVo. I think this camcorder uses the AVCHD codec.

Anyone out there able to comment?

rcamille, did you ever have any luck with this. I just got the Panasonic HDC-SD9 and would love to move the 1080i AVCHD video over to my TiVoHD for family viewing.

I have recently bought the same camcorder. I can tell you for certain that TiVo Desktop Plus does NOT support AVCHD. For that matter, unfortunately, neither does TiVo.NET because ffmpeg doesn't seem to have AVCHD support, either...

I would LOVE to see AVCHD support in TiVo Desktop Plus!

I have a Sony HG10 camcorder, and I use Nero Vision to convert the .mt2 files to .vob files, then I transfer them to my Series 3 TIVO and they play just fine. I use pyTivo, however, not Tivo Desktop to transfer files to the TIVO, since I like pyTivo better because it's free and I seem to have fewer file compatibility problems with it. It also uses fewer system resources.

Any chance I could get a small sample file to test? I've been working on updating the ffmpeg binary that pyTivo uses and we might be able to get this working directly (i.e. without Nero) given how much progress ffmpeg has made.
