Anybody else heard of this yet? I'm sure the writer's strike is going to screw up it's release but I just watched a clip of it here (http://www.fox.com/fallpreview/new/returnofjezebeljames-video.htm)and I think I like it.

I love Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose. And the creator/executive producer is Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls). Plus, they mention TiVo in the clip.

Wonder when it will ever make it to the small screen.

The writers' strike actually got them a slot on the board. Premieres March 7th.

Thanks. I'd not seen that. :D So there is a silver lining....

They shot a few episodes, but were basically canceled while in production. They can't have many episodes to air.

That's what I told Julie when she mentioned it last night. :D

well, I guess this premiered last night ... I missed it, but fortunately my tivo picked it up. I only watched the first couple minutes, but it seemed similar to the Gilmore Girls, and I'm looking forward to watching it later today or more likely tonight.

This was one of the few shows that I was looking forward to, as I really enjoyed Gilmore Girls by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino.

Looks like 2 episodes premiered last night ... Friday, 3-14-08. Why the heck would they put this show on Friday nights in between repeats of other shows?? Friday shows usually fail. Does Fox really want this show to fail? Why wouldn't they put it on Sunday, Monday, Thursday or hype it before or after AI?

Anyone see the episodes last night? How were they?

This show had the most inappropriate & out-of-place laugh track since The Flintstones. SP deleted.

I wanted to like this show because I am a fan of Gilmore Girls, Parker Posey, and Lauren Ambrose. But the show lacked any wit, humor, likable characters or reasonable story-line.

The hyperactive laugh track was very distracting.

How could so much talent produce something so bad?

Man that was just terrible.

Pretty terrible. It's like a badly-acted play.

The main character lacked any consistency. She's the smart sister, but is also fumbling all over the place.

They need to fire the costume designer (well, if they were canceled this is moot but I'll rant anyway) that couldn't be bothered to look up the fact that the New York Islanders play on Long Island, and remember that these characters live and work in Manhattan and the hockey team in New York City is the Rangers. Nobody in Manhattan drives out to Uniondale to watch the Islanders when MSG is right there.

If the guy is an Islander fan, why wouldn't he go to an Islander game? Or, why couldn't it have been a Ranger-Islander game at MSG?

The guy wouldn't put his girlfriend in an Islander jersey at MSG unless he wanted her to get beat up. And it looked like they bought the jersey at the game.

With the cash they seem to have, they would likely be in seats that nobody would care if she was in an Islander jersey or not.

Unless and until AS-P admits her Gilmore Girls wrongs, I wish her nothing but failure in her future endeavors. Yeah, I'm still that bitter.

I went to high school with the guy who played the young author's father from Iowa in last week's episode. He's also been a correspondent on the Daily Show.

In high school he was a jerk.

I hated when Parker Posey said Coco...

As someone said, since it's canceled.. this is all moot.
But tivo only recorded one episode and i don't know if it aired first or second.. but i had no idea what was going on. I saw the one with the Iowa boy genius... Is Coco pregnant?
I watched for Parker and Lauren but the laugh track was awful. And who is Jezebel James?

The premise of the sitcom was Posey's character is unable to get pregnant, so she asks her rebel estranged sister (Ambrose) to act as a surrogate.

Jezebel James was Ambrose's imaginary childhood friend that Posey (an editor) used as the basis for a hit kid's novel. or something like that. :)

Yea, I saw the one with the kid from Iowa too, but had to turn it off after about 15 minutes. Just awful.

And I, too, hated the way Parker Posey said Coco. It was incredibly annoying.

thanks. you'd think in the 2nd ep they usually repeat some of the premise...to help the stragglers. but i guess since it aired the same night...anyway.. moot moot moot.

I rewatched the episodes last night and found this to be very funny, not annoying as some have said. Posey and Ambrose play pretty good characters. Not a literary standout but very entertaining. I hope it really isn't canceled as reported somewhere.
