problem? I live in Houston Texas and there is a channel 55 that I get...also 55.1 for digital. The TV set (Sharp 37 Aquos LCD HD) views that channel without viewing through the TIVO HD. Viewing this channel from TIVO HD, I get a black screen, but since my sound is wired through my stereo, I can hear audio. Recording give me a black screen but it does record the audio.
Any idea what is going on??
I have OTA - not cable or satellite

Try rescanning your OTA channels with the TiVo HD.

Could also be a PSIP problem with that station, the TV doesn't care as much about PSIP, but the TiVo HD does.
What channel is 55-1 really on, try tuning to that channel manually.

Fer instance, my WB affiliate is channel 30, their digital/HD channel is 30-1.

They actually broadcast the digital channel on 48.
When their PSIP isn't working, 30-1 can be found on 48-3.

For a while back at the beginning of last season, I had to double up my season passes for Smallville and Supernatural on both 30-1 and 48-3 to make sure they actually recorded.
They've gotten better about making sure their PSIP is running so I've been able to drop the 48-3 recording.

This is very interesting. I have not been able to use the TIVO remote to "manually dial" 55.1. If the TIVO remote has a .(dot) to use, I haven't found it. I was wondering if TIVO will come out with the .(dot) - since my TV has it on its remote. Usually I hit 55 - then use the up button to go to 55.1.
I will try to contact that station with the PSIP information listed and see if they can give me a solution.

The "." is actually a "-" on the Tivo remote and is the Skip Forward button (->).

I rescanned the channels. I went online to check out the station 55.1 - this is an independent station (called You Tube) plays oldie stuff like "Hawaii 50" , "Fantasy Island" and movies. I like to watch this channel because of the movies. From their website I used a contact us link and told them of my situation...hopefully I will get an answer.

I was wondering about that, thanks.
