I upgraded my HDVR2 hard drive using the zipper several months ago. Worked great. I had some trouble with the IP address and didn't connect to it to run the enhancements script until yesterday.
I ran it, everything worked great. Connected via Tivo Web Plus, did happy dance of joy.
Tried to actually watch a show...no go. When I play something off the NPL I get the "are you done with this program" screen, and once I select "Don't Delete" it says "The Recorder was not able to record this program because there was no video signal on the channel. You may have been trying to record on a channel that you don't receive." Pressing 'select' takes me back to the DTV central screen.
I poked around here (a lot!) and came up with several similar problems, all of which seemed to revolve around the DNS setting. I changed it from 4.2.2.2 to 192.168.1.1 (my router) and it seemed to be work. I can't recall now how many programs I tried.
This afternoon it was back to Not Working. It appears that programs recorded before I monkeyed with things last night won't play, but recordings since then will. That leaves me with five hours of (crappy) viewable television and 378 hours I can't see. :D
The DNS was back to 4.2.2.2, so I set it back, but this time it didn't fix the problem. I tried 0.0.0.0, and briefly had the "blank now playing list" problem. I edited /etc/nsswitch.conf to remove DNS with no change.
Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm sure this has been Done To Death so feel free to point out better search terms or links to similar threads!
