I am not sure how to change it now, but a few of my TiVos have hostnames set (i.e. TiVo [Daddy]).

Please note this is NOT the DVR name as set on tivo.com.

I remember being able to set this in the TiVo interface, network setting, but can not now for the life of me find the option to set/reset them.

I use a linksys WRT54G router and these names show up in the DHCP clients list.

The functions/locations of these boxes have changed and no longer coincide with the naming convention.

Any help would be appreciated.

edit: these are non-hacked Tivo Series 2 boxes.

I don't remember there ever being an option to set a separate network host name for a TiVo. Early on, the DVR name (as set on TiVo.com) would appear as the hostname when you looked at the router's DHCP clients table, but that has changed over the years and the TiVo hostnames now show up as "TIVO-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx", where "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" is the service number of the TiVo.

I remember it being an option at one time (maybe in the 7.x codeline?) but haven't seen it recently. I want to say it only showed up if you used static IP addresses?
