If you do not know, TiVo is running a special to upgrade to the TiVo HD model. Assuming you have lifetime service (on the Pioneer), you can do a 1 time transfer of lifetime (from the Pioneer to a new TiVo HD) for a fee of $199. The fee also includes 1 year of service on the old unit.

I saw this quote posted in another thread. Can someone point me to a link for this offer. Specifically, I have a 3 year old S2 lifetime unit. If I am eligible for this offer, this would allow me to purchase an HD tivo ($300) and transfer my lifetime service to the HD tivo ($199) for a total of $499?

Does this offer affect the additional unit pricing? Would I still continue to pay $6.95 for my other S2?

Just a thought. Would I be better off getting an HD tivo with lifetime service for $700 (I saw that offer a while back, don't know if it's still out there...) and then selling my S2 lifetime box on Ebay (looks like with the upgraded HD I can get $400-450). I know that money wise it seems that this is a better choice, but It seems I would have to get the new HD lifetime on line first, then sell the SD lifetime unit, to ensure I kept my second S2 at the discount rate.

(if you want to buy the HD TiVo with lifetime for $700. That's what I did. And I sold my S2 w/lifetime for $200).
