Neuros Recorder 2

I finally set up my Neuros Recorder 2 and was disappointed to learn that you actually have to record shows with the device and cannot simply transfer existing Tivo recordings to the device, converting them to the desired format on the fly. I received it as a gift unexpectedly, and I guess when I told the person I liked it, I didn't do enough research about what the thing actually does.

So the question is - does anyone know of a hack of any kind or another device that can accomplish this?

there are several apps that will allow you to do some of what you're asking, but that constitutes extraction, and discussion of extraction is forbidden by the forum rules
