When we set up our new HD-DVR (model HR-21-700) we did not set up for an OTA so we cannot use DVR when using OTA. We would like to set this up so that the DVR will work with OTA. My question is, how can we do this without resetting and starting all over? We have looked through menu options and don't see any option for doing this without the reset.
thanks

I'm not sure, but I think the HR21 is not OTA-capable.

It offered the option during initial setup, but we cannot find it now that everything is set up.

Well it asked if we had an OTA when we were doing initial setup, so if it is not possible to do, why did it ask?

On the back of the DVR where it says antennaeNo such connection on an HR21. If you had an HR20 it would say "Off Air In" Maybe you'd better check the manual for connections. Or ask Milominderbender. He think's he has the answer but it's only documented in the "Undocumented" tips and tricks. On the off chance that you're for real, I have given you the answer. You do not have OTA capability if you have an HR21. If you need a different answer, then you'll have to ask a different question.

On the back of the DVR where it says antennaeThen it's a HR20-700.

Well it asked if we had an OTA when we were doing initial setup, so if it is not possible to do, why did it ask?Probably because it shipped with HR20 software which does support OTA, then it updated to the latest HR21 software.
On the back of the DVR where it says antennaeCould that be the RF antenna for the RF remote?
Here's a good forum with a lot more info on the HR20/21 DVRs.

Interesting theory, but not correct. The HR21 never shipped with "HR20 software". I was a beta tester of the HR21 and it never prompted for OTA, even in the earliest software versions.
I would ask shoppergirl to verify the exact model number. Open the front panel flap covering the access card - there is a sticker in there giving the model.

Also, the model comes up when you press and hold the INFO button.
If it is an HR20, then you should find the setup for OTA under the Setup menu as Sat & Ant or something like that.

But, we really need to know what model the OP did receiver.

I doubt it. My money would be on shoppergirl being mistaken as to either the model or the prompt.

Most likely, that's the case. But, bottom line is that if she needs OTA then she needs the HR20.
