Can't transfer tivo to Mac

For about 2 months now I cannot consistently get shows to transfer to my Mac. I have Leopard on a Mac Pro with plenty of memory and disk space. But the problem started while still on Tiger. A temporary fix is to reboot the Tivo. That will last for maybe 1 or two shows, then it refuses to transfer.

If the problem was on the Mac and the Toast software, resetting the Tivo wouldn't fix it, but it does, temporarily. In the Tivo Transfer window, if the file starts to download and then stops, I see "estimating time" but nothing is being transferred. When I go into the web interface and try to transfer, I get an error of too many transfers.

Since this problem is posted all over the web, I am expecting a fix from Tivo any day now. Can we at least get an estimate of when it will be fixed or provide directions on what we can do to fix it ourselves?

I've seen this exact problem on room-to-room transfers between our two TiVos. It's bad enough that, since the fall update, browsing the remote TiVo is so slow as to be almost unusable - but then, on top of that, we occasionally have to reboot the TiVo (the one that initiated the transfer) to get the transfer to actually happen.
