Transfer Service Not Running

Please help!
I am running XP on my laptop. Tonight I just tried to open my Tivo Desktop application and the app won't even open, it's giving me an error message stating "Transfer Service Not Running."

So I log on to Tivo.com and discover I have an old version of Tivo Desktop installed my computer. So I uninstall the old version, and download the 2.5.1 new version.

SAME PROBLEM. The application will not open, and is giving me an upfront error message stating "Transfer Service Not Running."

How am I supposed to fix anything when I can't even get IN to the application to find out what's going on??

There is probably a number of things you need to check on your PC to make sure all the TiVo server & services are running properly so that the app can run.
